4.25t GVW Alternatively-Fueled Vehicles Could Be Exempt From ‘O’ Licensing

In July, the Government published a consultation to modify an earlier proposal from 2014, which looked to remove the general exemption for some vehicles including electric vehicles from goods vehicle operator licensing requirements in Great Britain. Should these proposals go ahead all alternatively-fueled vehicles up to 4.25 tonnes will be exempt from goods operator licence requirements and would not require the associated time and cost that comes with an operator licence regime. The proposal would only apply to restricted licence holders.
